Privacy policy.

Information we collect

PlayThrough Games has no accounts, contact forms, advertising trackers, or analytics tools, and we do not sell personal information. Like every website, our server receives your IP address in order to send you the pages you ask for.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use cookies. Your browser saves your settings and progress on your device: your color theme, sound and graphics settings, your scores and finished levels, your progress in the arcade, and the day’s Passcode game. It also keeps a note of which version of the site it last loaded, so that updates arrive. This stays in your browser and is not sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.

Player profiles and crews

Playing with other people is optional. If you set up a player profile, your nickname, your icon, and a key that identifies your device are created and kept in your browser. They are not stored on our server. When you join a crew or a game, your nickname and icon are sent to the other players’ devices so they can see who you are, and their devices keep them as part of the crew. While you are in a crew, its other members’ devices can also see when you are online and which game you are in.

Playing with other devices

Multiplayer games connect the players’ devices directly to each other. To set up that connection, our server briefly holds the connection details of each device, including its IP address, in memory, and discards them once the devices are connected or the attempt ends. While a crew has members online, the server holds the same kind of details for a few of them, filed under a scrambled name for the crew, so that other members can find it; they are discarded when those members go offline. Because the connection is direct, the people you play with can technically see your IP address. Game moves travel between the devices and not through our server.

Third-party services

Opening a page contacts no one but us: the site’s fonts, pictures and sounds all come from our own server. The same is true when a multiplayer connection is set up: to learn its own public address, your browser asks our address-discovery (STUN) server, which receives your IP address. The site uses no third-party services.

Contacting us

If you email us, your email provider sends the information you choose to include. We use it only to read and respond to your message and do not sell it or use it for marketing.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page if the site or its privacy practices change. Any revision will be posted here with a new effective date.
